Adjective Clauses- is a subordinate clause that modifies a noun or pronoun.


  • An adjective clause may begin with a relative pronoun such as who, whom, whose, that, which, where, or when.
  • An adjective clause normally follows the word it modifies.

Examples:

  1. Sprinters who work out every day will become good at running.
  2. Towns that have a popular monument are good places to visit.
  3. People that go on trips to other cities are called tourists.

  1. The bear that destroyed the forest was on the loose.
  2. My friend who sits next to me every day is funny.
  3. The woods where I live are scary at night.
  4. The book that he is holding is my grammar book.
  5. The candy which is very good is my favorite snack.
  6. My dog that is very annoying is named Spot.
  7. The lake that is near my house is big.
  8. My phone which is on the table rang very loudly.
  9. The cat that ran across the porch is black with white spots.
  10. This kid gave me a ticket that is for the play.
